Love crumble...any crumble! With custard if sweet...
Cream AND custard for me.
What a beautiful sight!!! A wonderful day to you! Nicole
Thank you! And a wonderful day to you, Nicole!
Oh yes indeed.
Rhubarb pie, crumble, sauce...all perfect ways to celebrate spring. And it is so pretty in your garden.
And rhubarb and ginger chutney. Sadly this photo was not taken in my garden.
Mmmm, yummy! I think I now need to bake a Rhubarb-strawberry pie!
Quite right too!
You have so many rhubarb plants for crumble and other delicious rhubarb recipes.
I wish they were mine! I took this photo at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons. I can only imagine what culinary delights they created from these plants.
Looks like you will have a LOT of crumble - are they all in your garden? I'm looking forward to the first harvest soon. You've reminded me to go and water mine!
If these were all my plants, there would be a national custard shortage! Enjoy your first harvest!
Now that is a lovely sight. I only have one Rhubarb plant and must buy more as I am finding that Fruit is easier to grow than Vegetables in our Garden. Marion
You must buy more, Marion!... and you are probably a better veggie grower than you think as rhubarb is one of those cheeky veggies which masquerades as a fruit in the UK (I believe that a court ruled that it was a fruit in the USA in the 1940's).
Crumble and custard...a treat from my childhood!
I hope you've eaten plenty of crumble since then! It is my Sunday sin... and if I make too much, it is a Monday sin. Sadly, however much I bake, it never seems to make it to Tuesday.
Oh rhubarb! I still have some rhubarb jam left from last year, but it just doesn't have the same bite as fresh rhubarb pie... yum.
Send that rhubarb jam to Norfolk immediately! I will give it a good home.
And pots, lovely pots! As per question above - are they all in your garden?
Oh how I wish they were, Cathy. I only have one rhubarb forcer. I guess these ones belong to Raymond Blanc.
I'm hoping to have some rhubarb to pull very soon. Yum yum.
Love the pots, not so keen on Rhubarb though!
All the more for me then!
What a gorgeous photo. I do love a good crumble
Thank you fellow crumble fan.
I love, love, love Rhubarb!! This is my favourite crumble, pie, jam, you name it! Where I used to live, the elderly man at the end cottage grew this under one of these pots and used to call me to his garden a couple of times a year to pick it and then make lots of crumble to share with the neighbours (in other words, he didn't want to cook the stuff!!). I'm going to have to go and buy some now!! Have a great weekend. xx
Clever man. I hope you bought some. I am seriously considering extending my rhubarb collection.
I'd love to have room for a couple of rhubarb plants - wonder what I could chuck out....
With all the structure it offers to the scheme, Helene, you could work it in somewhere...
Hi: I just stumbled upon your blog...and I like it! I will be stopping by again. Have a happy week.
Thank you! And a happy week to you!
A very lovely image that delights the eye and makes the mouth water.
Doesn't it? I think if I won the lottery, I might spend a considerable quantity of my winnings on rhubarb forcers.
Delish! I want some!! Your rhubarb bed is beautiful. :o)
I wish it were mine....
We have another month to go before we see any rhubarb but now you have me longing for it!
You will enjoy it all the more when it finally arrives.
never saw a rhubarb forcer...
They are beautiful things. I think every garden should have one (even if there isn't rhubarb!)
