  3. You are so lucky to see an Owl in the day time Sarah. We hear them but rarely see them. I think the Chickens would soon scare him off if they felt he was after their dinner ! Take care now. Marion

  5. How lucky are you ? It is so special to actually see one instead of just hearing it - but I will happily settle for hearing that wonderful sound ! Oh, and the chickens look very happy too !

    1. Funnily enough, I rarely hear them. There was a baby little owl on the farm track last week. I drew up in my car and it just sat and looked at me for a few seconds before it flew away gracefully.

  6. Chickens can be vicious and I wouldn't be surprised if they gave the owl a run for its money. Well done on catching wildlife like this in a photo - a very tricky thing to do.

  9. Fabulous image. I have never seen an owl during the day. I do not that some will hunt during daytime hours.

I saw a little owl on the framework of the Grand-children's swing. It was dusk.....could not get close enough to get a decent image.

    1. The first time I saw an owl during the day, it was sunbathing on a post outside the kitchen window! It was a little owl too. I suspect they don't know they're owls!

    1. Luck is the word! The chicken coop was only a few feet from my door and I couldn't quite believe it when I saw the owl sitting there for so long.
