Amazing! My pair of visiting pheasants keep well under the feeders, picking up the bits other birds drop (like your chickens). They haven't attempted anything like that.
Wildlife are just so much fun to watch! When it comes to food they all take the path of least resistance but, this one seems to have miscalculated......
Well timed shot!!
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, I did have a few tries!
Deleteunreal! makes my finch-flitting front-yard feel entirely common:)
ReplyDeleteFinches are fab! The ones here have relocated to another feeder. I can hardly blame them.
DeleteFunny! Our chickens do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! My chickens are too lazy. They sit under the feeders waiting for the small birds to drop seed.
DeleteThe doves hanging out on our feeder are not nearly so amusing. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I do think that pheasants are beautiful, but they can be astonishingly ungainly!

ReplyDeleteI'm impressed by both the photo and the pheasant's effort! And here I thought that squirrels had the corner on raiding feeders.
ReplyDeleteVery resourceful bird.
ReplyDeleteThat's one clever bird!
ReplyDeleteLovely. There's no keeping a good bird down.
ReplyDeleteI think I can see the strings...
ReplyDeleteIt's really interesting!
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy! What a cool shot! Why was it jumping? Just to get seed?
